A Different Kind Of Social ROI

Twitter Users Say Thanks

Are you still wondering if Social Marketing provides any kind of ROI to your business?  Well USA Today wrote about Twitter users telling their stories.  This one caught my eye about a very different kind of ROI:

Chris Hodgson, 26; Cleveland; @dimanddensum, @hodgepodgetruck,@hodgescleveland
I’m thankful for Twitter because … it’s helped my business boom.

When chef and restauarter Hodgson discovered that one of his food trucks was missing last month, he quickly sprang into action, putting out an APB for the stolen vehicle not through the police, but via Twitter. A half hour later, the truck was back in his possession and Hodgson had another reason to thank his Twitter following for helping him thrive. He says the social media site helped keep his initial company, Dim and Den Sum afloat, and now seven restaurants and a catering company later, he’s thankful for his fanbase that has seen him and his business partners grow 140 characters at a time. “My first response is to always go to Twitter,” he says.
